I came across an old “Wizard of Id” cartoon.
The executioner asks a condemned man standing on a gallows, "Do you have any last words?" He answers, "Just two." I get the joke. I know what two words are expected in response, but I also imagined other two-word combinations that spoke different volumes. Love you. Miss you. Drop dead. Happy birthday. You win. You lose. Goodbye forever. Bon voyage. Ciao baby. Mea culpa. This could go on forever, without ever settling for the predictable two words.
